As part of the T-POWER project for EXPO 2025, the University of Florence has developed a permanent video installation illustrating how the Tuscan model contributes to meeting the three global challenges identified by the Exposition: Saving Lives, Empowering Lives, Connecting Lives. The installation offers an immersive journey into the world of Tuscan research in health and wellbeing. The interviewees highlight how the synergies made possible by the Tuscan health ecosystem are positioning Tuscany as a hub of scientific, technological, and social innovation.
Thanks to a multi-centric and multidisciplinary approach, the University of Florence - promoter of the Tuscany Health Ecosystem - is contributing with its excellence and expertise to face global health challenges in the field of health. These include predictive and personalized medicine, advanced health technologies, such as wearable sensors, social and assistance robot, 3D tools for surgical training and rehabilitation, nanomedicine and creation of community health hubs that foster health and wellbeing of people and territories, through community engagement and social innovation.
In addition, a major research challenge carried out by the Age-IT partnership and the Age-Florence Centre - as interdisciplinary research in the biological, social and human sciences - focuses on developing innovative solutions to face demographic ageing to promote social transformation.
